About EZE — Help for Life’s Hardest Home Transitions
If you’re facing a home transition that feels like more than you can handle alone — a house to empty after a loss, a parent who needs to move, decades of belongings to sort through, a property that needs work you can’t fund up front — you’re exactly who we built EZE for. We’re a Southwest Michigan company that takes the overwhelming parts of selling and moving off your shoulders, coordinates everything, and gets it done without asking you to pay out of pocket. The costs come out of the sale, not your savings.
How EZE got started
EZE’s founder, Ryan Miersma, spent the first twenty years of his career far from real estate — helping global corporations with their technology needs, traveling constantly around the country and abroad. He came to real estate the way a lot of people do: as a way to build toward retirement. With the help of a coach, he began acquiring, renting, and improving properties around Southwest Michigan.
What he didn’t expect was how much it would change his life. Real estate let Ryan be more present for his growing family and more invested in his own community — home for dinner instead of in another airport. And the more homeowners he worked with, the more he noticed something that bothered him.
The market was full of cash buyers and wholesalers offering people a quick out — but almost always at a steep discount, taking a big piece of the homeowner’s equity in exchange for speed. Plenty of people signed those deals simply because they believed it was their only option. Others fell through the cracks entirely: they wanted to sell or move, but didn’t have the money, the time, or the know-how to get a house ready, and no one was offering to help them bridge that gap.
So Ryan built one. Drawing on his background in problem-solving and creative financing, he developed a different model — one where EZE fronts and coordinates the work a home needs, lets people sell on the open market for what the home is actually worth, and gets repaid at closing. EZE is not a cash buyer that profits from your discount. We make our living by helping your home sell for more, not less — so you keep the equity a lowball offer would have taken. Here’s how that’s different from a typical cash buyer or wholesaler.
Who we help
Most of the people we serve aren’t really thinking “I need to sell a house fast.” They’re in the middle of a life change that happens to involve a home. People like:
- The homeowner who’s ready to downsize but is staring at a house that needs work and a lifetime of belongings to sort through — and isn’t sure how to pay for any of it. We handle the repairs, the cleaning, the sorting, the moving, and the sale, with nothing due up front.
- The son or daughter helping a parent move into assisted living — often from another state, trying to manage it all from a distance. We become your team on the ground, coordinating everything so you don’t have to take time off and fly back and forth, with the costs coming out of the sale.
- The person who inherited a home they don’t have the time, energy, or desire to deal with. We do the work you don’t want to — clean-out, repairs, preparation, and sale — so an inherited house stops being a burden.
- The homeowner who simply can’t fund the transition alone. If the thing standing between you and a fresh start is money you don’t have on hand, that’s the exact gap EZE was created to close.
If you saw yourself in any of those, you’re in the right place.
Who you’re actually working with
EZE is locally owned, locally funded, and founder-led. When you work with us, you’re not handed off to a call center or a faceless national brand — Ryan and a carefully vetted local network of contractors and service providers handle your transition personally. We live here, we work here, and our name is on every project, which means we only take on what we can genuinely follow through on.
What ties it all together is simple: we want to do right by people in a moment when they feel overwhelmed and unsure who to trust. That means patience with someone sorting through forty years of memories, honesty about your options even when another company would push you toward a faster, cheaper-for-them deal, and respect for how much a home and a move can mean.
Why we do this
People sometimes ask why we offer a service that didn’t really exist before. The honest answer is that we kept meeting people the existing market wasn’t serving well — people taking discounted offers because they thought they had no choice, people stuck because they couldn’t fund the work a sale required, people who just wanted someone trustworthy to handle the whole thing for them. EZE exists for them. If that’s you, we’d be glad to help you figure out your options.
